Love is in the air!
It’s that time of year again, Valentines Day!
I don’t know about you but, to be honest, I was never a Valentine’s Day kinda gal. Do not get me wrong, I would never turn down a Galentine’s day brunch with mimosas and bloody mary’s. NEVER! But when it comes to the mushy gushy parts of the holiday, I just never caught on.
However, I can understand this holiday. It is a time to show appreciation and love for the people in your life. Whether it is a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner/friend/cousin/aunt/brother/sister/whatever else; Everyone has someone they are thankful for. That is what this holiday means to me.
Why not embrace that?
Not to mention I am ALWAYS on board with a holiday that has a color theme. Red and pink are the way to go this holiday. Thinking about how many ways these colors can be incorporated into your life may be overwhelming, but don’t worry, we are here to help!
We have some fun ideas on how you can accessorize this Valentines Day and maybe even make gift giving, and receiving, a little easier for you! (AKA we suggest dropping a not-so-subtle hint by forwarding a link to your loved one if you see something that catches your eye. Let’s make this holiday easier for everyone involved!)
Since I’ve already mentioned it, let’s start with the signature colors- red & pink:
Honestly, this is probably the most foolproof way to look festive in a hurry. Start with a neutral tone base outfit, incorporating tan, black, white or gray, and then add a pop of color in your accessories. This can be by jewelry, scarves or hair accessories.

LavishlyHip Tip: Choosing the right red for your hair and skin tone:
Have you ever wondered how to pick THE right red? I love the red lipstick look but felt like I was cursed with not being able to find the right shade! And then I learned this rule…
-If you have blonde hair and fair skin lean towards blue-toned reds.
-If you have dark hair and darker skin tones, try orange-based reds
Simple as that! It has worked for me so far. So, if you are having trouble finding the right red, give a new red tone a try!
Of course, this not only works for lipstick but for clothing and accessories as well.
We have noticed that fun shaped jewelry has been increasing in popularity. We first noticed this trend with the Sheila Fajl star jewelry. If you are not familiar with this collection of pieces from Sheila Fajl, you are missing out! She began creating pieces that incorporated stars into earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. We LOVE this trend and carry many pieces in our store. Following up with this trend we have seen hearts, moons, etc.
The incorporation of hearts has been popular as of late, especially with Valentine’s Day growing closer. Petite or statement pieces, we are seeing hearts everywhere. Kendra Scott came out with the Ari heart pieces that have been flying off the shelves and we cannot keep them in stock! This is proof that this look is not going anywhere anytime soon.
We have a few heart items left that are moving FAST. Grab them before they disappear.

As mentioned, we do not see this trend fading anytime soon so do yourself a favor and prepare yourself for spring and summer with fun geometric hoops or petite shaped studs!
Galentine’s day picks!
If you are looking for a fun way to surprise your Galentine’s this holiday we have some ideas! We like simple, practical and lower priced items for this type of gift.
The price point being slightly lower is recommended if you are attending a brunch or other Galentine’s Day event with a group of gals and you want to surprise each person with a little something.
Try the Grab and Go pony tubes for this! This way everyone can receive the same gift but there is a personal touch for each person. What color scheme reminds you of your friend? Are they a bright pop of color type of person or a neutral lover? There are many color combinations to choose from!

If you are looking to add a little more to the gift try a coordinating nail polish color or a relaxing face mask.
Last but not least… Nails:
The trend right now for nails is multicolored nails that incorporate a single color scheme. We are seeing this a lot with neutrals. I tried this myself and LOVED it.
If you like this look, try it with reds and pinks!
I find a lot of my nail inspiration from Pinterest. I have not seen this color scheme used as much on Pinterest but I found a few I love.
